About

Music

Twisted Creek plays acoustic music with a bluegrass background and strong tendencies to stray.  You will hear bluegrass, but you will also hear strong influences of blues, country, folk, rock, reggae, old time and jazz.....maybe even some jamgrass.  Unique vocals and harmonies blend with improvisational instrumental grooves

The band brings together 4 seasoned musicians with over 70 years of collective experience.

    Lee Wise

Founding Member, Guitar, Vocals, songwriter, front man

Singer/songwriter Lee Wise, affectionately known as 'Bluegrass Lee', is one of the 3 original founding members of Twisted Creek. His unique vocal style, contemporary guitar work, and passion for progressive acoustic music continues to be the foundation on which Twisted Creek builds its original sound.

    Bill Wise

Founding Member, Mandolin, Guitar, vocals,

Bill has been a part of the acoustic music scene in Ohio for more than 20 years.  He is a self-taught musician playing bass, guitar and mandolin.  A computer geek by day, he handles much of the bands technical needs.

"It's all about the music... Real Folk Music...songs that people know the words to.  Sometimes it's about making something old sound new.  Sometimes it's about making something new sound authentically old."

"...the Band gives us as musicians a place to play....to invent..."

    JJ Jerisek

Resophonic Guitar, Banjo, Vocals

Jay Jay, the "old man" of the group, is a much traveled, former full time musician.  His resonator guitar and banjo playing add sparkle and drive to the bans's sound.   Jay Jay sings all the parts, but not all at one time of course, and an occasional lead or two, where his "Twisted" personality comes through the mike to sneak up on the audience and leave em fer dead. He first discovered Bluegrass music via The Andy Griffith Show and ain't been right since.

    Allen Bumbarger

Bass, vocals

Our newest member, Allen drives the band with rich bass lines and an edge that borders on rock and funk.  His role as a vocalist is currently expanding to include tenor and 2nd baritone.

Allen is a self-taught guitar and bass musician (with a little help from Mel Bay).  He has been in various bands over the last 25 years, from Oldies, Metal, Classic Rock, Original Bands and Tribute Bands.  Now Bluegrass is gives me the family, no BS, warm, at home feeling.  I'm very happy to be a part of Twisted Creek.
